A new publication from the EU-Australia Leadership Forum provides an insight into the relationship between the European Union and Australia and examines it from European, Australian and sometimes joint perspectives.

The EU and Australia: Shared Opportunities and Common Challenges features original and reprinted pieces of analysis from some of the brightest minds in EU-Australia affairs.

Topics covered include: security, foreign policy and development dimensions of the EU-Australia relationship; trade and investment, including the current state of play in trade and the future EU-Australia Free Trade Agreement; cooperation in the area of scientific research and innovation; partnerships in energy, climate change and environment; and migration, an issue high on the agenda of both the EU and Australia.

The publication also presents the findings of original research undertaken by the EU-Australia Leadership Forum project into perceptions of the EU in Australia.

The publication was officially launched at the inaugural EU-Australia Leadership Forum, held in Sydney in June, 2017.
