EU-Australia Leadership Forum, Sydney, 2-6 June 2017

The inaugural EU-Australia Leadership Forum took place in Sydney, Australia on 2 - 6 June 2017. We welcomed 50 Emerging Leaders and more than 120 Senior Leaders to several days of panel discussions, roundtables and workshops, as well as offering plenty of time for people to talk to each other, share perspectives and exchange ideas.

The event started on Friday 2 June 2017 with a group of 50 Emerging Leaders engaging with subject experts and each other to gain a better understanding of what the EU and Australia already do together. The group also formulated recommendations that were presented to Senior Leaders. Senior and Emerging Leaders joined together in a day of discussions on major issues on the agenda of both parties, such as the crisis in politics, global shocks and paths to prosperity. The Senior Leaders completed the event by participating in a series of roundtables that took an end on Tuesday 6 June.

The Forum also saw the launch of the publication "EU and Australia: Shared opportunities and common challenges", with reprinted and original contributions from a range of EU and Australian experts.

The video below shows highlights from the inaugural EU-Australia Leadership Forum, as well as reflections from some of those that took part
