The official summary report of the 2018 EU-Australia Leadership Forum is now available. The document captures the outcomes of the formally reported aspects of the 2018 joint Senior and Emerging Leaders Forum and includes the summary recommendations from the Senior Leaders Forum roundtable discussions.
The prestigious event took place in Brussels in November 2018 and was the second of two such forums, held under the auspices of the EU-Australia Leadership Forum project.
The 2018 EU-Australia Leadership Forum took place in Brussels from 18-22 November. For five days, senior and emerging leaders from the EU and Australia shared their expertise on topics such as trade, environment, data protection, science, women in leadership and more. Participants also discussed ideas for deepening the already strong bilateral relationship.
Following is a summary of highlights from the event, which was designed to enhance cooperation between Australia and the EU.
Day one: Emerging Leaders Welcome Reception
20 November, 2018 – Brussels, Belgium: Key European and Australian leaders from government, business, media, education and civil society have gathered in Brussels this week to take part in the 2018 EU-Australia Leadership Forum. This is the first time that the prestigious five-day Forum has been hosted in Europe.
The Forum is a cornerstone event of the EU-Australia Leadership Forum project – a three-year project funded by the European Union and supported by the Government of Australia, that aims to broaden and deepen the existing ties between the EU and Australia.
